What happens when you start a painting, and then don't like where its heading? You set it aside for when the feeling strikes again for that particular painting. This was what happened for this particular painting. I started this as a piece for Abstract April, and did not like where it was heading, so I set it aside to do later. And now is that Later. I really love how this turned out. I was wanting something with lots of contrast but in limited color pallet, and flowers seemed the way to achieve this goal.
