💛💜 100% of Your 50%: A Mixed Media Tribute to Showing Up

There are days when energy runs low, motivation slips away, and simply getting out of bed feels like a victory. On those days, I remind myself: “If you only have 50% in you and you give it your all—you gave 100%.” That phrase became the heart of this yellow and purple mixed media journal spread—a gentle yet powerful tribute to effort, resilience, and self-compassion.

Yellow symbolizes light, hope, and the spark we reach for even in our lowest moments. Purple brings depth, reflection, and emotion—an acknowledgment of the heavy days we carry. Together, these colors became the palette for this page: messy, layered, imperfect… and absolutely real.

This spread is not about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about honoring the times when we feel half-full but still choose to pour out whatever we have. That’s courage. That’s strength. That’s enough.

As I built up textures and marks, I thought of all the ways we discount ourselves when we’re tired, anxious, or overwhelmed. But art reminds me—it all counts. Every brushstroke, every decision to keep going, even when it’s slow or hard, is a small act of defiance and hope.
